I have a 1966 Corvair with a 350 and a TH425 trans. This car was owned by my father and he installed a 283 with a Kelmark kit in the mid 70's. He sold it in the early 80s. I found it sitting with no motor or trans in 2006 and purchased it. I collected parts and began a 3 year complete redo on the car. Being a drag racer, I wanted a tougher trans than the original so the TH425 was my choice. I ran the car in some bracket races this year. First time out I lost in the final round running a 1/4 mile best of 13.62. This winter I am installing a much more potent 406 cu in engine with a 3.55 gears and hoping for low 12s.
The front and rear seats are out of a 2000 monte carlo SS I think and are leather . The rear seat back folds forward and there is an access panel behind the seat which has dzus fasteners holding it in so I can remove it to get at the front of the motor.
