Guy Desjardins, '66 V8 ZF Corsa - Quebec, Canada
1966 Corsa converted with Crown kit in 1985. Ran one summer then the car was left for dead under a tree for 22 years. In 2007 a 2nd restoration was started and took three years. During that time a Pantera ZF five speed was fitted to the Corvair rear suspension. The engine was upgraded to a two hump 327 with a Chevy crossram dual quad intake manifold and 180° crossover headers. Internal cheats produce 434 HP at the rear wheels.

With Nittos 275/50R15 tires, wetted to get some spin and launched at 6000 rpm.
|
Same tires but I used the line lock. I could not light them up, the Nittos pushed the front tires so I had to let them go. You can see the four black lines two from the front, two from the back.
|
Third I put a set of BFG Comp TA's. No water needed.

This summer, after seeing Paul Beck's electric power steering conversion at the convention, I installed the same "epowersteering.com straight kit-04" in my car. What a great addition! Parking is fun now!
